Creatives at Work is an ongoing campaign that documents and uplifts creative labor across the region. Creatives At Work recognizes artists as essential contributors to community life, culture, and local economies. Through interviews, storytelling, and documentation across multiple formats, we center artist voices, creative processes, and lived experiences while building a living archive that reflects how creativity appears in everyday life across the Inland Empire.
Our Story
Creatives at Work was originally launched in 2021 as Artists at Work, during a moment of reconnection following COVID shutdowns. At a time when many creatives were rebuilding practice, visibility, and community after prolonged isolation, the campaign created space for recognition and shared experience through interviews and zine-style publications. Over time, Creatives At Work evolved to reflect a broader understanding of creative labor and to expand its formats, while maintaining its original purpose to document, honor, and connect creatives across the Inland Empire. The 2021 archive remains a foundational chapter of Creatives at Work, grounding the campaign’s ongoing work in continuity, care, and collective memory.
Convos with Community is an interview series within Creatives at Work that documents creative labor across the region. The series centers on the artist's voice and lived experience, highlighting how creatives live, work, and contribute to their communities across San Bernardino County.
The Creatives at Work archive centers the people behind creative labor.
