Producing: Making Your Film and What Comes After

Workshop Block B: 2:45 - 4:15 p.m.
Facilitator: Anthony “Betex” Benitez, Future First
Location: Conf. Room B

Whether you're getting ready to shoot, in the middle of a production, or already finished with a film and aren't sure where to take it, this workshop is about learning how to push your project forward at every step. We'll walk through taking a concept and script into production and building the crew to make it happen, staying organized and making the most of everyone's time once you're on set, and why what comes after should be part of the plan from the very beginning. Future First will also be sharing the actual paperwork we use, including call sheets, shot lists, shooting schedules, crew breakdowns, and gear lists. Participants will then break into small groups by stage and work through their projects together.

Future First is an Inland Empire production company built around community-centered storytelling that reflects the people and places of the region. The team produces client and original film work, and builds the systems and community that help Inland Empire filmmakers get their projects made and keep moving forward. Anthony Benitez is the founder of Future First and a filmmaker and director based in the Inland Empire. He has been working in the industry since 2018 across producing, directing, cinematography, and lighting, and brings that hands-on experience into the resources he shares with other filmmakers.
