The Joshua Tree Cultural Center is launching the Joshua Tree Jazz Orchestra, a dynamic new ensemble created by the team behind the acclaimed Joshua Tree Philharmonic and rooted in the creative pulse of Joshua Tree. Celebrating the full spectrum of jazz from swing and Latin to big band, bebop, and modern chart driven repertoire, the orchestra aims to build a vibrant community of musicians eager to perform and collaborate. Instrumentalists are invited to an organizational meeting on April 7, 2026 at 6:30 pm in the Cultural Center’s Blak Box Theater, where the vision, rehearsal schedule, and performance goals will be shared. Directed by Bill Barrett, this ground floor gathering offers saxophonists, trumpeters, trombonists, pianists, bassists, guitarists, drummers, and other jazz players the chance to connect, contribute, and help shape an exciting new chapter in the desert’s music scene.
