From the first festival and sale held in a private home and featuring five local artists, the festival has grown to accommodate over sixty artists. Although many selected artists are still local, over the years, the reputation of the festival has spread, resulting in submissions from artists from all over the Western states.
The art festival committee selects the best of the submissions and strives to include fine art representing a wide range of media. Admittance to the festival is free. A percentage of the art sales goes to the church. The proceeds have in the past been used to support church building projects, the church’s handbell choir, the Family Service Association, and Food for All. Part of the proceeds from the 2005 festival was used to donate $7,000 to hurricane relief for the city of Lafitte, Louisiana.
