Ontario Invitational Art Exhibition Reception for the Artists Museum of History and Art, Ontario

These artists were selected from a pool of over 100 artists who exhibited in the museum's juried "Ontario Open Art Exhibition" in 2013, which was adjudicated by Daniel Foster.  Mr. Foster is the Executive Director of Oceanside Museum of Art and the Founding Board Chair of Arts Connection - the Arts Council of San Bernardino County.

In selecting the "Invitational" participants for 2014, Mr. Foster responded enthusiastically to the artists' skilled execution of diverse expressions and subjects.  During his 2013 gallery walkthrough, he challenged the artists to always push beyond their comfort zone.  The resulting "Invitational" showcase explores a multiplicity of themes.

This year's "Invitational" includes artworks that are visually articulated with clarity and technical acumen.  It provides critical, intellectual and aesthetic challengs for a broad scope of museum visitors and a feast for those with a thirst for an array of new perspectives.  Students of art will recognize familiar influences such as Expressionism, Primitivism and Surrealism.  Other visitors will be captivated by master-crafted handiwork, grand visions of the sublime and familiar stories.

A tradition since 2002, the Museum Associates have hosted the "Ontario Invitational Art Exhibition" as an every-other-year cultural event.  To date, thirty-two individuals have been awarded the opportunity in the museum's biennial "Invitational" exhibition.
