James Otto at The Cave in Big Bear!

*THIS SHOW HAS GENERAL SEATING, FIRST COME FIRST SERVED.

James Otto may be 100 percent country, but he’s also got a heart full of soul. On his third album, Shake What God Gave Ya, Nashville’s breakout star puts his God-given lung power to work on a set of songs that make even more determined use of the old-school R&B grit in his powerhouse voice. “I look at my sound as somewhere between Nashville and Memphis,” says Otto, setting the new record’s compass point firmly on the map.

CUBENSIS at The Cave in Big Bear!

*THIS SHOW HAS GENERAL SEATING, FIRST COME FIRST SERVED.

Since 1987, Los Angeles-based band CUBENSIS has carried the torch in celebration of one of America’s most beloved touring bands, the Grateful Dead. CUBENSIS brings the Grateful Dead concert experience back to life. Drawing from all eras of the Dead, the band performs two full sets of Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band classics that retain all the spontaneous exploratory jamming for which the bands were renown. However, the music produced is almost entirely spontaneous and uniquely Cubensis.

Marc Cohn at The Cave in Big Bear!

Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Marc Cohn has been obsessed with pop music for as long as he can remember: “I was hooked from day one. My older brother had a band that rehearsed in our basement, so I heard Bacharach, The Beatles, Ray Charles, and Motown coming up through the floorboards from the time I was six years old. By the time I was eleven though, the Beatles were breaking up and singer-songwriters were breaking through, and a lot of that music really resonated for me”

Cash'd Out at The Cave in Big Bear!

*THIS SHOW HAS GENERAL SEATING, FIRST COME FIRST SERVED.

Over the past couple of decades, tribute bands have become big business in the world of concert promotion. And, not surprisingly, the more popular ones are the acts that are most authentic. Such is the case with Cash’d Out, a San Diego based band, that channels Johnny Cash in about as close a manner to the real thing as it gets.

Donavon Frankenreiter at The Cave in Big Bear!

To create his fifth full-length album Start Livin', Hawaii-based singer/guitarist/songwriter Donavon Frankenreiter holed up in a Southern California studio for seven days with his longtime bassist Matt Grundy - and no one else. The follow-up to 2010's Glow, Start Livin' is a nine-track selection of folk-infused songs that sweetly reflect the simplicity of their recording. With its smooth showcasing of Frankenreiter's rich, honey-thick vocals and masterful guitar work, Start Livin' bears all the intimacy of an impromptu back-porch performance and the tenderness of a treasured love letter.

The English Beat at The Cave in Big Bear!

*THIS SHOW HAS GENERAL SEATING, FIRST COME FIRST SERVED.

“In 2010, [The English Beat] remains on fire, opening their set with a rousing cover of The Staple Singers classic I’ll Take You There. If the excitement wasn’t at a fevered pitch by then, their second song I Confess brought the entire Gibson Amphitheatre to their collective feet. The song still sounds as fresh and lively today as it did when KROQ was granting it massive airplay back in 1982. Another cover followed, a skankin’ version of Tears Of A Clown, originally by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles.” – Highwire Daze
