Arts Event Calendar

The Riverside Arts Council is partnering with SmartRiverside to make the 36th Mayor’s Celebration for Arts & Innovation bigger and better than it has ever been. The event takes place on Saturday, October 11, 2014.

The recently renovated Riverside Municipal Auditorium will host the most interactive collection of sights and sounds ever included in one event. The Mayor’s Celebration will showcase everything that helps to define the arts, culture and innovation in Riverside. Music, performance, exhibition and The Art of Food, a Taste of Riverside-style representation of 20 of the City’s best restaurants, combine with a distinctly playful flavor to make this an evening to remember.

A new season of exhibitions opens this fall at the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art at Cal State San Bernardino.

Join us Oct. 23 for a curator-led tour at 4p.m. at RAFFMA followed by a Taco Truck! 5-6:30p.m.

"Bridging Homeboy Industries: Fabian Debora, Alex Kizu and Juan Carlos Muñoz Hernandez" will be on display Oct. 6, 2014-Jan. 31, 2015.

Artist reception and exhibit opening for Harriet White: Dedicated Artist and Potpourri, pastel paintings by ada m. passaro.

Harriet White, a graduate of the Chicago Art Institute, explored her art to the fullest by sketching, drawing and painting. A founding member of CCMA and a promoter of fine arts in the greater Pomona Valley area, she successfully saved the museum\'s collection from the auction block. Exhibit on display August 21-November 2, 201

Statement from ada m. passaro: All subjects fascinate me . . . Wherever I look, I visualize paintings. The atmosphere/mood . . . composition . . . color . . . or how the light falls upon a subject will grab me and I just have to paint it. Some of these paintings were done en plain aire while others were conceived in the studio. In my landscape images, I try to capture my emotional response to the subject, not necessarily replicating the scene. Exhibit on display August 21-October 11, 2014.
