James Otto at The Cave in Big Bear!

James Otto may be 100 percent country, but he’s also got a heart full of soul. On his third album, Shake What God Gave Ya, Nashville’s breakout star puts his God-given lung power to work on a set of songs that make even more determined use of the old-school R&B grit in his powerhouse voice. “I look at my sound as somewhere between Nashville and Memphis,” says Otto, setting the new record’s compass point firmly on the map.

Since 1987, Los Angeles-based band CUBENSIS has carried the torch in celebration of one of America’s most beloved touring bands, the Grateful Dead. CUBENSIS brings the Grateful Dead concert experience back to life. Drawing from all eras of the Dead, the band performs two full sets of Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band classics that retain all the spontaneous exploratory jamming for which the bands were renown. However, the music produced is almost entirely spontaneous and uniquely Cubensis.

Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Marc Cohn has been obsessed with pop music for as long as he can remember: “I was hooked from day one. My older brother had a band that rehearsed in our basement, so I heard Bacharach, The Beatles, Ray Charles, and Motown coming up through the floorboards from the time I was six years old. By the time I was eleven though, the Beatles were breaking up and singer-songwriters were breaking through, and a lot of that music really resonated for me”

Over the past couple of decades, tribute bands have become big business in the world of concert promotion. And, not surprisingly, the more popular ones are the acts that are most authentic. Such is the case with Cash’d Out, a San Diego based band, that channels Johnny Cash in about as close a manner to the real thing as it gets.

Donavon Frankenreiter at The Cave in Big Bear!

To create his fifth full-length album Start Livin', Hawaii-based singer/guitarist/songwriter Donavon Frankenreiter holed up in a Southern California studio for seven days with his longtime bassist Matt Grundy - and no one else. The follow-up to 2010's Glow, Start Livin' is a nine-track selection of folk-infused songs that sweetly reflect the simplicity of their recording. With its smooth showcasing of Frankenreiter's rich, honey-thick vocals and masterful guitar work, Start Livin' bears all the intimacy of an impromptu back-porch performance and the tenderness of a treasured love letter.

“In 2010, [The English Beat] remains on fire, opening their set with a rousing cover of The Staple Singers classic I’ll Take You There. If the excitement wasn’t at a fevered pitch by then, their second song I Confess brought the entire Gibson Amphitheatre to their collective feet. The song still sounds as fresh and lively today as it did when KROQ was granting it massive airplay back in 1982. Another cover followed, a skankin’ version of Tears Of A Clown, originally by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles.” – Highwire Daze

The Young Dubliners are quite possibly Celtic rock's hardest working band, playing hundreds of shows to thousands of fans across the US and Europe every year. In recent years they have twice appeared on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, had songs featured in TV shows (Sons Of Anarchy, Human Target) and toured extensively as a headliner and as the opener for such a diverse list of artists as The Flaming Lips, Collective Soul, Jethro Tull, Johnny Lang and many more.

In the year 1970, four young musicians from the South Bay of Los Angeles, came together to create a new invigorating style of music.

Exploring the possibilities of progressive classical and world influences, yet rooted with the soul of the blues and R&B, Joseph Puerta, Christopher North, David Pack, and Burleigh Drummond created a new sound that was defined and recognized as, "Ambrosia".

Dick Dale at The Cave in Big Bear!

Dick Dale an avid surfer was born in Boston Massachusetts in 1937, moved to California 1954 with his parents and great expectations for a bright future. As a kid he had taught himself to play the drums listening to Gene Krupa. Dale bought his first ukulele, being left handed and drumming to the beat of Gene Krupa he began strumming left-handed upside down and backwards to a Gene Krupa beat.
