We are soliciting applications for submissions of art for these one-day long exhibitions developed in collaboration with branches of the Riverside Public Library on March 5 (Arlanza), April 16 (La Sierra) and May 21 (Casa Blanca). These exhibitions will be held outdoors. The exhibition space will be formed by a set of modular, lightweight, temporary structure with a maximum height of 6’5’”. Artworks should be lightweight, easily hung, mounted or pinned to a “clothesline” structure like the one pictured in the sketches in this article by ND architecture. Work should be appropriate for outdoor viewing by people of all ages.

Artists should send an image or description of the work they propose for the exhibition along with an artist’s statement and resume. Artists should indicate their availability for the exhibition dates: those who can assure their presence at the exhibitions will be preferred. Artists whose proposals are accepted will receive an honorarium to produce the proposed work and for their participation in the exhibitions.

This program offers artists an opportunity to interact with the public, with performing artists and with ethnographers and other scholars engaged in public art.

Proposals should be submitted electronically by January 20, 2016 to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

We will contact successful applicants by February 5, 2016.
