Auditions will take place on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Watchorn Hall at the University of Redlands. The competition is open to both vocalists and instrumentalists. The preliminary auditions (closed to the public) start at 1:00 p.m. and the Final Round (open to the public) starts at 7:00 p.m.
The Redlands Bowl Young Artists Auditions were established in 1952 by Carolyn S. Pike to encourage young talent and help progress the careers of emerging classical musicians. The winners of the audition each receive a scholarship: $500 for juniors and $1,000 for seniors. The winners also perform in a concert as a part of the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival. Each year the Associates of Redlands Bowl provide the scholarships awarded to the winners.
