Historically, some of the most important art of our times was viewed and purchased in expositions such as the World’s Columbian Exposition (also known as the Chicago World’s Fair). Expositions and fairs are where the public came to view new art, architecture and music, and savvy art collectors purchased the most important art of the century.
The Joshua Tree National Park’s three-day art event at the historic Oasis of Mara in beautiful Twentynine Palms, CA, presents a juried art exhibition, opening reception and awards, artist booths, art demonstrations, nature walks, historical lectures and exhibits, live music, and delightful culinary treats. Events are staged at five cultural venues in the Oasis of Mara -- 29 Palms Art Gallery, 29 Palms Inn, 29 Palms Creative Center, Old Schoolhouse Museum, and Joshua Tree NP HQ & Oasis Visitor Center. In addition, a special exhibit will be on display at the Joshua Tree NP Visitor Center in Joshua Tree.
Join us on December 5, 6 & 7, 2014, as we celebrate the beauty of Joshua Tree National Park and the art it has inspired.
